There are many special themed hostels in Singapore but none can match the uniqueness of Prince of Wales. Located at Little India in Singapore, the Prince of Wales is patterned after the traditional pubs of Australia where you can enjoy excellent cold beer, a casual ambiance, and lively music.
The Aussie look of the hostel is highlighted by its sun-burnt color theme, corrugated iron, and lovely memorabilia. The hostel can offer traditional Australian beers in its in-house bar but there are also wide varieties of international drinks available for you. You can also enjoy live music at its beer garden as well as free steak sandwiches and free breakfasts.
The hostel has several dorm type rooms that can accommodate 5 to 12 people. It also has two double rooms with their own sinks and bathroom shared only between the two private rooms. All rooms are air-conditioned but fans will be available also if you want. Fresh linens are always available for guests and each bed has its own nearby power outlet as well as security lockers.
The hostel provides free WiFi access if you have your own laptop. The good thing is if you do not have a laptop, Prince of Wales has its own computer stations which you can use for free.
The Bugis commercial center is just around the corner but if you want to get good bargains, simply stroll down Little India and you can surely find a nice bazaar offering cheap items. Orchard Road on the other hand is also just minutes away from Prince of Wales.
